PERMIT FEE SCHEDULE

NEW CONSTRUCTION AND ADDITIONS:
Use Groups: B, E, H, I-1, I-2, I-3, M, R-1, R-2, R-3, R-4, R-5 and U

RENOVATIONS, ALTERATIONS AND REPAIR:
$24.00 per one thousand dollars of estimated cost of work (including labor)

SIGNS:
$3.00 per square foot of surface area of the sign.

10% of the total permit fee, minimum of $50.00

Temporary certificate of occupancy:  Additional fee of $30.00

REQUIRED INSPECTIONS

Construction work must be Inspected In accordance with the State Uniform Construction Code Regulations N.J.A.C. 5:23-2.18. This
agency will carry out such periodic Inspections during the progress of work as are necessary to Insure that work installed conforms to the approved plans and the requirements of the Uniform Construction Code.

The owner or other responsible person In charge of work must notify this agency when work Is ready for any required inspections specified below. Requests for inspections must be made at least 24 hours prior to the time the inspection Is desired. Inspections will be performed within three business days of the time for which they are requested. The work must not proceed in a manner which will preclude the Inspection until It has been made and approval given.

D Required Inspections for all subcodes for one and two family dwellings are the following:

1. The bottom of footing trenches before placement of footings, except that In the case of pile foundations, inspections shall be made in accordance with the requirements of the building subcode;

2. Foundations and all walls up to grade level prior to back filling;

3. All structural framing and connections prior to covering with finish or infill material; plumbing underground services, rough piping, water service, sewer. septic services and storm drains; electrical rough wiring, panels and service Installations: Insulation installations;

4. Installation of all finished materials, seatings of exterior Joints; plumbing piping, trim and fixtures; electrical wiring, devices and fixtures; mechanical systems equipment.

    •Required special inspections. The applicant by accepting the permit will be deemed to have consented to these requirements:

    •A final inspection is required for each applicable subcode area before a final Certificate of Occupancy or Approval may be     
    issued. Any violations of the approved plans and/or permit will be noted and the holder of the permit notified of discrepancies.

    •A complete copy of approved plans must be kept on the Job site. If you do not understand any of this information, please 
    ask. u.c.c. Form F-170D

REQUIREMENTS FOR OBTAINING A CONSTRUCTION PERMIT

Submit proof of ownership and zoning permit.

Submit proof of Zoning and/or Planning Board approval, if applicable.

Submit proof of engineering approvals and payment of bonds and escrows.

Submit proof of Deptford Township Municipal Utilities Authority and Gloucester County Utilities Authority permits or submit proof of septic and well approval from the Gloucester County Health Department.

Submit two (2) copies of plans and specifications drawn to scale with sufficient clarity and detailed dimensions to show the nature and character of the work to be done, the plans and specifications shall conform to the NJ Uniform Construction Code, the National Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Codes and BOCA National Building Code, 1996 Edition.

The seal and signature of the NJ registered architect or NJ licensed engineer who prepared the plans shall be affixed to each sheet or copy of plans submitted and on the first sheet of specifications and supportive information submitted.

Upon completion of the proposed work all final inspections must be made and approved, an application (obtained at this office) must be filled out by the applicant, stamped by the Deptford Township MUA that the water meter has been installed. In the event a private well and/or sewer has been installed, you must obtain approval from he Gloucester County Health Department.

An "As Built" survey with topography prepared, signed and sealed by a licensed professional engineer or land surveyor must be submitted to this office.

Prior to issuance of a certificate of occupancy, a certificate of enrollment in the Home Owners Warranty Program must be submitted to this office.

In a case where there is no curb and sidewalk, you must install them or apply for a curb and sidewalk waiver from Township Council. (Applications may be obtained in the Construction Office.)

Pool Permit Procedure

The complete construction permit application consists of:

* Construction Permit Jacket (completed) which includes:

* Zoning Approval (Please allow 5-10 working days for zoning approval.)

Building Subcode Technical Section

* Electrical Subcode Technical Section
--Homeowner may do the electrical work, if he/she is the primary resident.
--If an electrical contractor is doing the work, they must sign and seal the permit 
application.

Plans Required:

--Above Ground Pool Plans consists of Pool Brochure and Filter Brochure

--In-ground Pool Plans consists of 2 sets of Architecturally or Engineered Sealed
Plans and Filter Brochure

ONCE COMPLETED APPLICATIONS AND PLANS ARE SUBMITTED, PLEASE ALLOW 10-14 WORKING DAYS FOR THE PERMIT TO BE ISSUED!

A 24-hour notice is needed WHEN scheduling inspections. Call the preceding day for the requested inspection.

Note: You must schedule and pass ALL Final Inspections prior to pool usage!
