INSTRUCTIONS FOR OBTAINING A ZONING PERMIT

FEE - $10.00 per residential application

FEE - $25.00 per commercial application

Contact the Homeowner’s Association for your development to determine if there are any special construction regulations. 

Complete Zoning application Fully, making sure that you have filled in your Name, Current Address, Telephone Number where you can be reached in the daytime, block, lot address of proposed improvement and type of work to be done.

For Construction of Accessories to an Existing Structure, indicate on site plan what you propose to construct and the distance from the front, side and rear lines along with distance from the house where applicable. This also applies to accessory building such as a garage or storage shed. 

Pool and Fences - Please sketch on a site plan and show distances from property lines. Explain height and type (i.e. above ground pool, stockade fence, etc.) on application.

A plot plan sealed by a licensed Engineer or Land Surveyor is required upon submission for New Construction of any residential, commercial or industrial building, including road improvements. At a minimum, the following must be shown:
a. Show existing and proposed ground elevations or contours.
b. Show proposed first floor elevations.
c. Show established street grade.
d. Show location of building on lot and distances from all lot lines.
e. Show provisions made for drainage run-off on site.
f. Show all trees 8" or more in diameter that are to be removed.
g. Show proposed location of sanitary and water service lines and connection point to the municipal system, or proposed location of well and septic system.
h. Proposed grade of driveway. Not to exceed 10%.
i. Building setback lines.

Allow five to ten (5 - 10) working days for completion of the permit.

When stamped APPROVED, see the Building Inspector’s Office for building permit applications.

DO NOT SUBMIT BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATIONS TO THIS OFFICE. ALL THAT WE REQUIRE ARE THE ZONING APPLICATIONS AND SURVEYS. NO BUILDING PERMIT APPLICATIONS WILL BE TAKEN.

An application for a Home Occupation can be obtained at the Zoning Office located in the Deptford Township Municipal Building.

A Yard Sale permit can be obtained at the Zoning Office located in the Deptford Township Zoning Office at no charge.
