OVERVIEW

Deptford Township is 17.5 square miles with a population of approximately 30,000. The Township acts as a throughway to almost every major highway in the State of New Jersey. Estimates of 100,000 commuters travel in Deptford Township on a daily basis.

The emergency medical services is among the busiest of the communities in Gloucester County. The Emergency Services Division responds to approximately 4,000 incidents per year. There are currently twelve full time employees and thirty-five part time employees that operate on a 24-hour schedule. There are two paid crews on twenty-four hours per day, Sunday through Saturday. The Emergency Services Division is under the direction of the Emergency Management Coordinator and the supervision of the Chief of Police or his or her designee. The Emergency Services Division is operated under the direction of the EMS Coordinator along with four (4) Supervisors.

The Department operates under the following schedule:

6:00AM -   2:00PM
8:00AM -   4:00PM
  2:00PM - 10:00PM
4:00PM - 12:00AM
10:00PM -   6:00AM
12:00PM -   8:00AM
