Trash/Recycling and Yard Waste Best Practices
- Please keep your trash and recycling receptacles separated. Try to leave space between the cans.
- Trash/Yard Waste cans should be no larger than 35 Gallons and not weigh more than 50lbs. (We prefer putting out multiple lighter cans than 1 or 2 heavy ones)
- If a can weights more than 50lbs it will not be collected.
- Yard Waste must NOT be put in plastic bags; it will not be taken.
- Bulk items like wood must be cut to pieces no longer than 4 ft in length.
- Dirt, rocks, sod, bricks or pavers are not yard waste.
- Bundles of sticks must be tied neatly.
- Mattresses must be wrapped in plastic.
- Breakdown large boxes, if they can’t fit in the can flatten them and tie them neatly.
- Cans must be at the curb the night before, they must not be blocked or behind cars.
- Items not accepted as trash include concrete, dirt, bricks, batteries, railroad ties, rocks, tires, or stumps.
