Trash/Recycling and Yard Waste Best Practices

  1. Please keep your trash and recycling receptacles separated. Try to leave space between the cans.
  2. Trash/Yard Waste cans should be no larger than 35 Gallons and not weigh more than 50lbs. (We prefer putting out multiple lighter cans than 1 or 2 heavy ones)
  3. If a can weights more than 50lbs it will not be collected.
  4. Yard Waste must NOT be put in plastic bags; it will not be taken.
  5. Bulk items like wood must be cut to pieces no longer than 4 ft in length.
  6. Dirt, rocks, sod, bricks or pavers are not yard waste.
  7. Bundles of sticks must be tied neatly.
  8. Mattresses must be wrapped in plastic.
  9. Breakdown large boxes, if they can’t fit in the can flatten them and tie them neatly.
  10. Cans must be at the curb the night before, they must not be blocked or behind cars.
  11. Items not accepted as trash include concrete, dirt, bricks, batteries, railroad ties, rocks, tires, or stumps.
