NOTICE TO DEPTFORD TOWNSHIP RESIDENTS

The Deptford Township Police Department has alerted the Deptford Township Municipal Utilities Authority (DTMUA) of robberies occurring within the township.The Persons involved are posing as Water Utility Workers and requesting access to resident’s homes.  They state they need to check their water, water meter or pipes as a means to gain entry into the resident’s home.  While one person distracts the resident in the home a second person enters and burglarizes the home.Please be advised that ALL DTMUA EMPLOYEES carry a photo identification cards and drive DTMUA vehicles with decals.  Do not hesitate to request to see proper identification from anyone who knocks on your door.

If you are suspicious of anyone claiming to be a Water Utility Worker immediately contact the DTMUA office at 856-415-1111 for verification or contact Detective Edward Kiermeier at 856-845-6300, ext. 1307;  or Detective Sgt. Johnson at ext. 1272.
